Brief History
Going back in the history of Kashmir corporation (KCL),
it is worth mentioning that the company was after a mere six months
in business, appointed General Sales Agent for the country’s
national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines. In fact, KCL
was the first local company in the history of Pakistan to be appointed
as GSA and handling agent for the National Carrier.
This appointment was valid at PIA’s three online domestic
stations in the Province of Sindh; Hyderabad, Sukkur and Nawabshah
besides Hazro, a city near the capital Islamabad. KCL continued
its Passenger/Cargo General Sales Agency and ground handling functions
up until 1984. At this time however certain changes in the government
policy forced the national carrier to resume its own ground handling
and other related functions at the above mentioned cities.
As the oldest commercial aviation company and general sales agency
in Pakistan Kashmir Corporation has been satisfying the needs
of its prestigious clients for 45 years. Though old and established
in the travel trade, KCL is progressive and modern in its outlook
and attitude. It is managed by a group of highly experienced,
qualified and motivated people, and it has always been recognized
as a competent organization in every sense of the word.
Infrastructure
Through its network of seven branches, and with the help of 130
experienced and dedicated personnel backed up by computerized
accounting, reservations and other related services, KCL has been
offering truly outstanding service to its customers.
Its offices are equipped with complete infrastructure to manage
both passenger and cargo business for its principals at Karachi,
Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. To maximize its revenues, KCL
also conducts its GSA selling activities through the majority
of the 380 IATA and 1261 non-IATA agencies licensed throughout
Pakistan. Thus it is capable of providing outstanding sales and
service throughout the country, while consistently maintaining
an excellent image of its principal airlines, as well as its own
professional competence.
Financial Stability
One of the unique features of KCL’s growth has been its financial
strength. The company has always relied on its own resources and
has never borrowed money from any financial institution to meet
its obligations, a fact which its bankers, M/s. Standard Chartered
Bank, can verify. Thus KCL’s growth has been steady and solid,
which has proved an important factor for their principals.
Ownership of Office
Premises
KCL owns its entire corporate head office premises, as well as most
of its GSA offices, which indicates the company’s firm roots
and commitment to the trade. Incidentally, all other GSA companies
(except PTE) in Pakistan operate out of rented or temporary premises.
Karachi Sales And

The Company has six separate passenger and cargo sales offices which,
along with its corporate headquarters, are situated on Strachen

with large show windows for display materials. All the Karachi offices
are located in three buildings: Nacon House, PIIA Building and Avenue
Centre on Strachen Road and are surrounded by several other travel
